“THE RULE OF 7”

To amplify the socialization of our puppies, we use a method that may seem odd,
but we find it very effective and easy to do. We call it “The Rule Of 7”.
Before the puppies are 7 weeks they should have:
(the things mentioned are just examples..use your creativity!)

1: Walked on 7 different surfaces:
-carpet
-concrete
-wood
-grass
-rocks
-newspapers
-moss

2: Played with 7 different toys:
-balls
-squeaking toys
-soft toys
-metal
-wood
-plastic
-glass (of course under supervision!)

3:Been in 7 different environments:
-living room
-kitchen
-kennel
-car
-laundry room
-crate
-garden

4: Met 7 challenges:
-met other dogs
-been in the forest
-crawled through a tunnel (a agility pipe etc)
-walked stairs
-walked through water (easy to do if it is raining..)
-seen other animals (cats, horses etc)
-climbed a steep slope

5:Eaten from 7 different surfaces:
-metal
-glass
-plastic
-paper
-porcelain
-from the hand
-aluminum foil

6:Eaten in 7 different environments:
-laundry room
-kitchen
-kennel
-crate
-living room
-outside
-in the car

7:Met 7 different people
(this is the easiest one!)
