Hello, and welcome to the website of Cymraeg Ci Cardigans.

 

This website is dedicated to our dogs and our kennel, 
but here is a little bit about the "two-legged" behind it all.
We are Gert & Christine Vandersmissen-Sonberg. 
Dogs are not only our common interest, but also the reason
we met in the first place. Gert is born and raised in Belgium,
Christine is originally from Norway. Today we are married,
living in a beautiful village in the region of Antwerp.
 

Our common passion is the Shepherd dog. 
We own 3 different shepherd breeds; the German
Shepherd, the Belgian Malinois and the Welsh Corgi Cardigan. We have two registered kennel names;
for our working dogs Kennel van de Biezenhoeve  
and for our Cardigans Kennel Cymraeg Ci.  
Most of our time is dedicated to them. 
We train every day. With the Cardigans we do obedience,
tracking, physical exercise, swimming, herding etc, 
and of course show training and grooming.

The Cardigan is a true Shepherd.
With a great spirit of life, a funny character and lots of silly
ideas. Even though the Cardigan is a easy and loving
companion, a Cardigan is only happy when it's life is filled
with activity. They love cuddling on the couch, but give them
something to do and you will see what a Cardigan is good
for! This "little" breed fills our lives with laughter and joy
and we can't imagine a single day without them.
We try to breed Cardigans that fit in OUR picture of what 
a true Cardigan is. We want Cardi's with an outgoing 
and positive character, with a sound and healthy anatomy
and a Cardigan that represents type and beauty.

like and appreciate!
